TRM is a leading manufacturer of Nutritional Feed Supplements for dogs and has always had a close connection with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. The training of guide dogs is a long and expensive process, involving both training at the Association headquarters and matching the dog with a person who in turn requires instruction. It is vital to ensure that this huge investment, both financial and emotional is protected by maintaining the dog in the optimum condition. Two recent case histories show just how useful TRM products have been in the work of the Association.
Trigger is a Labrador retriever who entered the kennels for training in September 2005 at the age of 12 months. At an early stage he started limping on his front left leg. X-rays did not reveal any specific problem. Feeding with STRIDE (TRM’s joint supplement) started at the end of September 2005 and there was an immediate improvement in joint function. Trigger has now been successfully placed with a visually impaired person, and has not had a day’s lameness since the STRIDE feeding programme commenced.
Dolly is a black Labrador born in May 2005. At the age of 4 months she was in great pain, and was diagnosed with severe Panosteitis (growing pains). Feeding with STRIDE commenced in November 2005 and since December 2005 she has not had one lame day. Dolly was withdrawn from the training programme due to attention problems, but she has now found a new home and is happy and pain free
